Early life of johnny lever
Johnny Lever was born on 14 August 1957 in a middle-class family, India. He lived in West Bengal with his family until the age of eight before moving to Mumbai to pursue his career in films. His father was a senior government officer, and the family lived in the “Bay Buildings” in Kolkata, a gated, privileged colony of residences which offered Lever and his family very comfortable life. In 1979, he appeared in Govind Nihalani’s directorial debut film Himmatwala, a remake of Rajesh Khanna and Raakhee starrer Himmatwala. He performed in another box office hit, Jaan-E-Mann in 1982. In 1982, he had a breakthrough role in Mehboob Khan’s Parwana, starring Amitabh Bachchan and his brother Shashi Kapoor. He also featured in his brother Shashi Kapoor’s 1982 film Waqt, directed by Yash Chopra, a role which eventually won him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. His first role of a villain came in the comedy film Chupke Chupke in 1985. The film was directed by Shekhar Kapur. Later that year, he starred alongside Sanjay Dutt in Dharmputra, also directed by Kapur.

He married to actress Pranita Wadhawan on 28 October 1998, after they began dating in late 1994. Pranita Wadhawan worked as an assistant director in the movie Abhay. Lever had met her in July 1995 at the birthday party of Ajay Devgn. They have two daughters.Their younger daughter Niharika Chopra is an aspiring singer, and younger daughter Khushi Lever has trained as a Bharatanatyam dancer.
